Upcoming 19th High1 Seoul Music Awards Nominee List Revealed!
51st Japan Record Awards: EXILE, BIG BANG
The 51st Japan Record Awards show took place on Wednesday. For the second year in a row, the grand prize (the Japan Record Award) was given to the group EXILE for the song "Someday." EXILE was one of 11 candidates for the prize, who all received the "best song" award. The other candidates included GIRL NEXT DOOR, Ikimono Gakari, TVXQ, Kiyoshi Hikawa, Kumi Koda, and w-inds. In 2008, EXILE faced similar competition and won the Japan Record Award with the song "Ti Amo."
Out of the four New Artist winners, BIG BANG earned the title of Best New Artist, becoming the first Korean group to do so. The other candidates were Maya Sakura, SCANDAL, and Hilchryme.

Usually, being the most searched celebrity on a search engine shows the fame that a certain person has. Well 2009 wasn't any different for these headline hoggers.The most searched artists on Korean search engine and media portal Nate.com in 2009 was the new girl group 2NE1. They debuted with their single "Fire" in May of this year. So in over half a year, they became the most searched artists on Nate. 2009 Fashion Statements
2009 have been a relatively great year with lots of music releases including group debuts. Let's not forget the few fashion statement the idols have made before we end 2009.

[KBS Acting Awards] The winners!
The KBS Acting Awards definitely picked the right ones to award. This year, KBS aired some of the most hit dramas such as Boys Over Flowers and IRIS. The Daesang went to Lee Byung Hun for IRIS. All his hard work for the action scenes paid off now.
He said, "I got this award for IRIS... When I first debuted and attended my first KBS Acting Awards, I told myself I would win the Daesang one day. I've won the Rookie Award and now the Daesang. I'm so happy to win this."

[News] DBSK/THSK/TVXQ top earner ,tvN ENEWS 'Blackbox', Celebrities' Annual Earnings Ranking
TVXQ, who is currently in a dispute with their agency, caught the attention of many by having the highest annual earnings this year dispite the unfavorable conditions they are currently in.
tvN ENEWS' 'blackbox' corner that was aired on the 20th ranked the celebrities with the top ten annual earnings this year.
The celebrity with the highest earnings was TVXQ, followed by Rain, Big Bang, Super Junior, Kim Hyun Joon, Go Hyun Jung, Girls' Generation, Lee Byung Hun, Yoo Jae Seok and Kang Ho Dong.
It was found that TVXQ earned at least 126.4 billion Won (equivalent to approximately 109 million USD) this year when their 90 billion Won earnings from Japanese album sales are taken into account.
However, this news is overshadowed by the fact that TVXQ is currently fighting a legal dispute with their agency SM Entertainment over an 'unfair contract' and have even been driven to the brink of a disbandment.
Newsway announcer/reporter Jung Soo Ryang stated, "TVXQ was able to reap such earning regardless of the fact that they are in such unfavorable conditions with the legal dispute," and "If their had been no legal dispute, they would have earned much more than this amount."
She also added, "If TVXQ, who has evolved from just a domestic star to a Hallyu star of Asia, cannot overcome these unfortunate conditions and disband, not only will this be a huge loss to our country's entertainment industry, it will also be a loss at a nationwide scale," and "I hope to see TVXQ come to a reasonable agreement with their agency and return to the stage in good spirits."

Inkigayo: The Magazine?
That's right, the Take 7 of Inkigayo is now also a magazine. SBS Contents Hub's president Lee Nam Ki announced that they are creating the country's first music program magazine called SBS Inkigayo Magazine Take 7"... creative, right? SBS wants to take a step beyond the performances aired on TV, so this magazine will include interviews, pictures and much more. The first issue will feature special pages about artists that have been active from the first week of December to the third week, including 2PM, SHINee, CL & Minzy, BEAST, f(x), MBLAQ, and Rainbow. They will make up around 80 pages and definitely will be a hit to young people.
An associate of SBS Contents Hub said, "This magazine represents the mainstream music features on Inkigayo. It's a new thing we're doing and everyone should keep an eye on it. We will have all kinds of music program information as well as concert news, behind-the-scenes features on music videos and more. We are aiming to become Korea's #1 music magazine."
The first issue of the magazine will be up for grabs for those attending 2009 SBS Gayo Daejun for free. For those who are not in attendance, they will start hitting the stores in January and will come out with a new issue every 28 days.
Doesn't sound so bad. I wouldn't mind a subscription to this magazine.

2NE1 TV to return, release of a new song?
Producer Choi stated that the show will make a comeback on December 30th with a special Episode 13 three hour finale. The special is going to contain a lot of behind the scenes footage, along with coverage of Park Bom's Solo Debut. CL & Minzy will also share their experiences as a duo on the special.
2NE1 also requested that on Christmas (25th), they film a special Christmas Segment. Because of this special request, the production crew will have to work hard on the 26th with a quick turn-around as the special is going to air on Wednesday December 30th.

Namie Amuro Announces 8-month Tour For 2010
On December 16, pop star Namie Amuro will release her next album, titled "PAST < FUTURE." In connection with the album, she has just announced a lengthy nationwide tour for 2010, which will keep her busy with 73 concerts over the course of 8 months.
The tour begins in Chiba on April 3 and will end with back-to-back performances at the Okinawa Convention Center on November 20-21. The complete schedule is available on the Vision Factory website.
"One Piece" Earns 1 Billion In Opening Weekend
An estimated 820,000 people filled the theaters in those first two days, bringing in �553 million on the 12th and �485 million on the 13th. In comparison, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" opened this year on 844 screens and earned �990 million in its opening weekend. Last year's "Gake no Ue no Ponyo" made more than �15 billion during its theatrical run, though it opened to �1.025 billion.
The per-screen average of "One Piece Film: Strong World" was more than �5.5 million, setting the record for a nationwide release ever since regulations against standing audiences went into effect. The film also set a record for distributor Toei in the number of advance tickets sold, which was close to 300,000 as of December 6.
Sakurai Sho Star In Kobe Docudrama
Also known as the "Kobe earthquake," the massive earthquake struck the southern Hyogo prefecture on January 17, 1995 and resulted in more than 6,400 casualties. The drama will focus on the reporters working for the Kobe Shimbun, who were determined to keep the newspaper running without interruption, despite the damage suffered during the earthquake.
The characters in the drama will all be based on real people, using their real names. Sakurai stars as the photo reporter Tomohiko Mitsuyama, who had joined Kobe Shimbun four years before the earthquake. The show will also have documentary segments such as interviews, including an appearance by Mitsuyama himself.
Fuji TV will broadcast the show in January 2010, which will be the 15th anniversary of the earthquake.

Alice Nine To Release Greatest Hits Album In 2010!
During the live performance Alice Nine announced that they will release their greatest hits album 'Alice Nine Complete Collection 2006-2009' on March 24th. They also mentioned that from March 22nd they will embark on a tour around 8 cities. Both announcements were met with shrieks of excitement from the crowds. All 8 performances will be held in small-size venues, so tickets will surely run out quickly.
Tohoshinki Releases First Best Album In February
This best album includes 16 songs from "Purple Line" which they became 1st in olicon weekly chart for the first time to "Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Simattann daro" which was chosen as best song prize at The 50th Japan Record Awards.
With the 2 CD version, additional CD with 8songs contains "Amaku Hateshinaku" which was delivered as digital single in September and was played in the commercial messege of candy tablet called "Pinky" which Tohoshinki appered. Recently Big Bang's Official Japanese Homepage posted information stating that Big Bang will have four concerts in Japan titled, Electric Love Tour 2010. Details of the 4 concerts:
